WiFi
Wifi has got to be one of the best inventions of
the 20th century or was it 21st century. I don't know, but it's great. I'm
sitting at a Starbucks right now, reading the news, sipping my tall cafe mocha,
and chatting with friends online. All wirelessly, granted Starbucks has picked
my pocket to have this convenience, and then charge me some ridiculous price for
a coffee, but hey it's fun.
I recently just got my GoMadic cable for my iQue
so that now my iQue can get on the internet. With the rumors of some amazing
products in the PDA market in the near future, I'm reluctant to buy the Enfora
wifi case for the iQue, for two reason; a) price, if something new really is on
the way from Garmin, I'll save my money and just get a new unit b) the Enfora
case doesn't fit the iQue perfectly and it also defeats the purpose of
wireless.
So hopefully by Christmas
either announcements will be made or the products will actually be out in the
market.

Fall - my favorite season
I absolutely love the fall. I love the colors, I
love that I get to wear sweaters again. I love going out to cooler weather and
eating apples, and having cider. It's perfect. Of course it's all a precursor to
Christmas and snow, which I love!!
I was able to get some pics lately of the
beautiful colors out and about around
me.
Fall Foliage Tour 2004
The Fall Foliage Tour 2004 for the NEMC went off
without a hitch, and we had the most number of cars yet!!
14. This
may sound insignificant, but our typical numbers are 6-7 cars, and managing 14
cars was a work out.
We truly lucked out with the weather, it was
perfect. We met up at Tapajoz restaurant parking lot, then we headed on to Bulls
Bridge, up through Schaghticoke Road, and onto Macedonia Brook State Park, then
up to the West Woods of Sharon, then onto the Cornwall Covered Bridge, and back
down to Kent Falls. We finally rested
at Kent Falls State Park and picnicked. The park service seemed to ammend their
rules for the Columbus Day weekend, and they were out collecting fees. So they
kindly enough made over 150.00 off us coming in. At that point I could have had
everyone go to a restaurant and enjoyed meals minus
bees.Overall though the day was great.

Apple back in the PDA market?
The rumors are flying. There is talk of Apple
re-entering the PDA market, but just how is a mystery. Some say it will be
through this new color iPod in the rumor mill, others say it will be a new
device of it's own.
Will Apple revamp the iApps to be more powerful.
Who knows, but I believe in the next few months there will be much more for us
to all speculate about. I for one, would love a PDA that ran OS X and could
place calls.
House Warming
A few weekends ago we journeyed up to
Baldwinville, MA to join Kerry & Dave in their house warming party. And
those lucky home owners also got to be the cooks. Well Dave manned the b-b-q and
the Mom's covered the other goodies.
It was really nice to see the Testa's again. It
was fun to see Kerry & Dave's place, and hear their ideas for what they are
going to do with it. We also got to check out Dave's new ride to work. Playing
with Dr. Pheebes was a highlight of the
trip.On Sunday we took a hike with
Marty, Kathy and Kerry. They are fortunate enough to live literally right next
door to a state park in MA.Click here for more

Life and Death
I was trying to figure out which category to put
this under. It's my thoughts on my health. It's a long complicated
story.
So my health, specifically my weight and my bp. I
was a healthy kid until I hit puberty, than that crap screwed with my body and I
got chubby. Then over the years, I slowly gained like 5-10 lbs a year. And well
that's been going on for oh, like 9 years so you get the
idea.
The ol' blood pressure, started being an
issue during my senior year in HS. Granted I was like 40 lbs over weight at that
point. I also had a lot of stress. Needless to say it fluctuated. Funny thing
is, two weeks before my wedding, my bp was the best it's been in years. You'd
think I'd be a stressed out loony with insane bp, nope I was
ok.
So weight kept coming on, I kept
putting it off, and stress became more and bp went up. I had two crazy incidents
with 200/140 bp and then 196/120 bp (the latter was due to psedophedrine and
having the flu). The first one there, was just due to insane personal and other
stress, and when my bp was taken later in the day when I relaxed it was a quite
a bit lower.
So I had seen a
traditional chinese doctor to deal with my bp, and she was awesome, except my
insurance didn't cover her, and well it's pretty expensive. So then I saw a
naturopath, and she was great too, also not covered by insurance, but we also
ran into some issues with some foul tasting tinctures, which she insisted were
just fine (2 weeks prior they tasted just
fine).
Lastly, my bp resurfaced again,
and I saw a traditional doctor, since I was broke. Well she freaked on me, and
had me in for every test my insurance carrier would pay for. To discover, there
is nothing abnormal with me, I just have high
bp.
So now I'm at this point in my
life. My mother is afraid I'm working myself too hard and am going to have a
stroke. My husband worries about me and wants me to be around for many more
years. And the more I think about possibly croaking tomorrow due to some brain
aneurysm, stroke or heart attack, this shit freaks me out. I want to quit
everything, go into seclusion for 6 months, get a grip on everything, and then
come back at it. BUT of course that's not
possible.
I rode 14.3 miles this past
week, and I walked 3 miles this weekend. But I've reverted back to poor eating
habits. Not super bad, but definitely not what i had been
doing.
I don't want to die tomorrow,
and I do want to live a long life, but I don't know how to deal with this other
than being all or nothing about it. I hate the medication I was prescribed with,
it makes me pee all the time, and dries my muscles right out, so I'm dehydrated,
and as anyone who knows me knows, I can go a whole day on 8oz of some liquid. Of
course now I'm parched all the time.
I
don't know am I just having a hard time realizing I need to make serious radical
changes in my life or if I need to see a therapist ( I have a bad track record
with them too). Drs, not my favorite people in the world. I loved my
pediatrician, wish he could have been my doctor the rest of my
life.
oh well, I needed to get that
out. I don't know what I'm going to do with my life. I feel so confused
now.

Night Riding
I stopped at my local bike shop (Class Cycles) on
Thursday after work, and picked up some goodies. I got a floor pump, 2 spare
tubes, patch kit, tire popping thingies, and a camelback siren pack. But I also
got a headlight and a tailight.
On Sunday we went riding at the Larkin Bridle
Trail. Soon I will have photos again, once I get a new camera. It was a nice
trail. We only got 3 miles into it, towards the 3 mile mark the path became a
bit sandy, which is pretty hard to pedal
through.
I finally got to do some
actually mountain biking, climbing up rocky paths and over rocks. It was a
beautiful day and the ride was
great.
Tonight, I got home late from
work but we went out riding anyways. it was great to get out and ride. My butt
was really sore, I took off the gel seat on Sunday and am going to use just the
regular seat.
I got to use my lights
tonight. I also got to see how I should not stop riding the bike because OMG, I
let it go for two weeks, and I'm back to being seriously out of shape. I was on
a roll there for a while. So now I gotta get back on track and up to where I was
at before.
My goal this week is to ride
each night 2+ miles. I know for those who are in really good shape, or even
decent shape, this sounds like piddly, but for me, being in horrendously bad
shape, it's a workout :-)
Once I get a
cam to take some pics with, I'll take some pics of my setup. Oh yeah, and I lost
some weight!
